Roth Turbines and Amber Fusion Announce Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Clean Wind Energy Deployment

EDINBURGH & LONDON, 26 MARCH 2026 — Roth Turbines Limited, developer of the patented WindSurf™ active-pitch Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT), and Amber Fusion Limited, a specialist energy technology and project development company, today announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop and deploy clean wind energy solutions across key infrastructure markets.

The collaboration combines Roth Turbines' proprietary WindSurf™ technology — a next-generation VAWT capable of generating power in turbulent, constrained environments where conventional turbines cannot operate — with Amber Fusion's expertise in energy project structuring and deployment. Together, the companies intend to pursue opportunities across infrastructure sectors where reliable, off-grid renewable power generation represents a compelling and largely unaddressed market need.

The WindSurf™ platform, which uses an active-pitch control system to continuously optimise blade angle in real time, has demonstrated the ability to outperform conventional turbines significantly in real-world conditions, including surviving gusts in excess of 100 mph during Storm Éowyn in January 2025. Its compact, modular design makes it uniquely suited to co-location with existing infrastructure — a key requirement in the target markets identified by both parties.

The collaboration is structured to allow flexibility on a project-by-project basis, enabling each opportunity to be tailored to the requirements of the end customer.

The announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two companies and comes as Roth Turbines prepares to commence production of its first customer trial units, with initial deployments targeted for the second half of 2026. Roth Turbines is currently raising £1 million in EIS-approved funding to support this production phase.
